Do you live in the Dayton, Ohio area in a neighborhood that doesn’t allow chickens, but wish you and your children could have the experience of raising chicks? Then we have TWO great programs for you! It’s called Rent-a-Chick and Rent-a-Chick Hatch. You will have to be able to pick up from our farm.

RENT-A-CHICK: For a $30 rental fee, you get everything you need to raise newly hatched chicks, including a feeder, waterer, heat lamp, brooder, feed, bedding, tips to raising chicks, and of course chicks (4 to 6). Raise them, hold them, love on them. Then, after 4 weeks, bring everything back and the chicks will continue to grow up on the farm. There are 21 slots scheduled for 2023.
RENT-A-CHICK HATCH: For a $50 rental fee, you get all the equipment in the Rent-a-Chick program, plus an incubator and 10 eggs to incubate and hatch chicks. This is a great program for homeschool families who want to teach embryology. After the chicks hatch (3 weeks incubation), you’ll raise the chicks for 3 weeks. This is a 6 week commitment. There are 15 slots scheduled for 2023.
The programs run from March to September. These are very popular programs and there is usually a waiting list. To reserve, please fill out the form below with the dates you want. Then get ready for cute lovable little fuzzballs!
IMPORTANT! Registration is a 2 step process. After finding an available slot in the program and timeframe you want, register by clicking the REGISTER button. After you successfully register, your registration is not complete until you click on the GET TICKETS button in the Tickets section and submit your payment. Registrations without payment will be deleted after 3 days. If you prefer to pay by cash or check, please contact us. Payments are fully refundable when requested up to one week prior to the scheduled pickup date. If you cancel within a week and we can find a replacement, we will refund you, less processing fees kept by the processing company. We will also work with you to change the reservation date if requested. Please make a note on your reservation if payment name is different than registration name.
